“PAYING BACK TO THE SOCIETY WHERE WE BELONG”

IS THE PHILOSOPHY OF FOUNDERS BEHIND FORMATION OF VESSO.

VESSO was founded on 6th May 2017 with a view to helping the most disadvantaged Vishwakarma artisans as well as poorest of the poor in the society. The idea was just not to help the poor artisans, but to make them stand on their own legs by providing necessary tools. VESSO was founded by seven highly committed Corporate employees conscious of the fact that welfare schemes of government alone are not sufficient to lift everyone at the bottom of the pyramid and those better off should always lend a helping hand to the disadvantaged to enable them to lead a decent life. Joined by like-minded members in the course of time, the strength of VESSO is now more than 200 Members.

The livelihood of Vishwakarma artisans like goldsmiths has, in recent times, been badly affected for various reasons. While some have shifted to other occupations, others are struggling to make a living. In many cases, government welfare schemes are not sufficient to make the artisans self-sufficient thus needing extra help from NGOs like VESSO. VESSO identifies the beneficiaries with the help of its network across the state as well as leaders of welfare societies in various towns and villages.

Help rendered by VESSO is mostly in kind while in some cases, only monetary aid helps the beneficiaries. Disadvantaged artisans are provided with required tools, widows with sewing machines or wet grinders to earn some income every month, old and physically disabled are provided with rice/groceries, brides are funded to get married, students are helped with payment of tuition fee, free notebooks, so on and so forth. This apart, Anna Danam is organized at select government hospitals and select orphanages are supported with rice, vegetables, food, clothes, etc.

While a few Members contribute RS.500 to 1000/- to VESSO's fund every month, a few donors donate RS.5000 or 10000/- once a year to help raise funds.

Benefitted by VESSO’s charity so far are: 17 widows, 3 carpenters, 250 students (with notebooks), 3 students (with tuition fee), 3 senior citizens, 4 brides, 1 beneficiary rendered homeless by fire accident, 5 orphanages/homes, 3 welfare societies, 30 women (with clothes/blankets).

Please read VESSO’s Annual Reports and financials to get to know more about charity work is done in the last two years.

VESSO has a resolve to lend a helping hand to each and every disadvantaged member it identifies.

VESSO is registered as a society (Regd.No.176/2017) under Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act, 2001.
